Do you work out of an inspected kitchen?
Yes. I work out of a commercial kitchen in Lorton, VA that is inspected by the Fairfax Health Department.
Why are there so many items that show as "Out of Stock" on the website?
Prufrock has over 100 items on its whole menu, and offers customers between 17-25 of those items every week.
How do I heat the meals?
Meals are always best when thawed before heating, but you do not have to. You can microwave, stove top, or oven heat any of the meals. Containers are not oven safe. Each meal has microwave instructions on the label, but truly as long as you get the food heated to your desired temperature, they're ready to eat. Is there a best day to place an order?
If you would like to have the whole weekly menu to choose from (17-25 items), place your order on Friday. Dishes are added to the "In Stock" page as they are made during the week. Between 2-3 dishes are added per day from Tuesday through Friday.

What is the delivery fee?
The delivery fee is $5.00 for any amount of meals purchased.
When do you deliver?
I run deliveries on Wednesdays and Sundays from 2:00pm-6:30pm on my Stafford and Fredericksburg route. I delivery Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 12:00pm-6:00pm on my Haymarket and route 17 route. If for any reason I will not be able to get to your home/office before 6:30pm, I will call you or email you to let you know roughly what I time I estimate I will reach your location, or allow you to reschedule for any other day and time that will work for you.
Do I need to be home for you to deliver?
No. If you can place a cooler outside your door that will be able to hold the amount for meals you order, I can place them in there for you to collect when you get home. If no one comes to the door when I ring or knock, and there is no cooler outside, I will have to take the meals with me. I will call or email you to reschedule for the next convenient delivery day.
Can I pick up my meals and skip the delivery fee?
Yes. You can pick up your order from any of the farmer's markets Prufrock attends. You can find information on those locations on the Farmer's Market page.
How many servings are in a container?
Each container has 1-2 servings. Specifically, single serving containers are priced from $4.50-$8.50, and 2 serving containers are priced between $10.00-$16.00.
How long will the meals last in the freezer or refrigerator?
The meals should last about 4-6 months in your freezer, and 5-7 days in your refrigerator.
Are you able to make a special order outside of your available menu?
No. Because I am the only chef, and production levels are very high, I can't offer special requests.
Can you provide nutritional information for a dish?
No. Because I prepare all my dishes without specific measurements, I cannot give you exact nutritional information on them. I can promise you that they will be delicious though. :-)
When you classify a dish as "Gluten Free", what does that mean?
That label means that the dish is not prepared using any ingredients that contain gluten, however, my kitchen is not a gluten free kitchen. This means that an individual with a gluten intolerance should be fine consuming those meals, but someone with an extreme sensitivity or celiac disease may be negatively affected.
